Christmas Cruise IX

Christmas Cruise IX was the cruise that wasn’t, but was. The cruise we took was completely different than the cruise we booked, thanks to Hurricanes Irma and Maria. We booked the cruise for three reasons: it was on the Norwegian Jade (my favorite ship), it was longer than the usual week (10 days) and it was calling on places we had never been. Many of those places were then hit by hurricanes.
The cruise that we finally took called on Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and all three of the ABC  Islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.) We had never been to Bonaire, so that was a new port, and the last time we visited the ABC Islands, we only did A and C which made me a bit crazy, so this was a very good cruise, even if it wasn’t what we planned.

I’ve added a map of where we were supposed to call. You can see the differences.
This turned out to be a very good cruise, because we managed to get upgraded to an Owner’s Suite in the Haven through Upgrade Advantage. We had a forward-facing suite with a balcony under the bridge and another balcony on the starboard side. I didn’t want to leave the ship.
